The Art Closet Gallery Presents "Paper Cuts"

Paper Cuts is a group show, guest curated by Alexander Deschamps, that brings together artists from multiple backgrounds and disciplines. This group of artists includes painters, poets, a costume designer, a sculptor, and other creatives, glued together by a common interest: paper.

For many of us, paper is a medium of first and last resort. Paper is at once a most accessible substrate and art form, also universal. When we are out of ideas or have new ones to work through, paper and collage are always accessible. Paper is portable and personal, it can come to the dinner table with your loved ones, or alone at your desk by lamplight. The stakes are low and the possibilities are endless. In this way, paper and collage are the most democratic mediums. The Art Closet Gallery aims to draw attention to the special role it has played in the last year and a half.
